New user with 232 coastal

Postby Ecoast » Sun Aug 28, 2016 6:15 pm

Hi guys

I am new to forum. I have a 232 coastal, I think it's a great boat. Am located all the way in New Zealand.
I am looking to put a pipe berth or two in the cabin, be good to be able to store things above berth and sleep above in needed to stay overnight with two others. Has anyone does this.
I currently have an evinrude 200hp two stroke and find it a little underpowered. Looking a Yamaha four stroke 250 or 300hp. Any recommendations what would be best.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

Hello from Brisbane. Over the last 5 or so years have been running a 225 Yamaha 4 stroke on a 232 Coastal with heaps of off shore fishing and it goes very well. Excellent for trolling and has a top speed of around 43 to 44 knots with only driver on board on those few days without major wave/swell. I assume you have trim tabs on your boat as critical especially when offshore. I assume you have checked engine for performance and prop also
hopefully helps

Hi ECoast
I have a 252 Coastal with single 300 Suzuki and it has plenty of power for my use.
I get down to NZ every couple years and would be willing to trade trips if you ever get to Washington State :usa: , I chase salmon and albacore.
