View the latest post Hello from sunny Antigua

Hi everyone.

I have a 1986 Excalibur 30 which needs a lot of work, structurally. The boat has had lots of previous repairs, all of which have failed or are poorly done. So this will be a summer project which will entail gutting the boat between the forward bulkhead and engine space bulkhead; and rebuilding the structure properly.

I am hoping this will be a good place to start for sources on the original construction and I will include info on the project as it progresses for future reference by anyone interested here.

I will include more detail in General Discussion forum.

Thanks in advance,
Nik

View the latest post Attachment(s) **WELLCRAFT 270 COASTAL GENERATOR INSTALL**

Hi All,

Am new to this forum, after having recently imported a 2004 270 Coastal Tournament here to Perth, Australia from Florida. Im wondering if anyone may be able to help me with a generator question. My Wellcraft's accessories are such that there is hot water heater, microwave, aircon/heating, cook top etc and all of these require a generator to run them (the other accessories work off 12V DC). Even on the circuit/switch panel it shows that there are switches to turn a generator on and off, The "STOP" Switch, when depressed down, is for a "PreHeat" so im guessing this would be for Diesel engine glow plugs prior to starting?. However, despite all this, I dont have one installed on board. Naturally, Im assuming that it either used to have one or, wasnt optioned at the time of build.
My question is, what sort/brand of generator would have been fitted?. Would it have been Gas or Diesel?. How would the exhaust system have been routed and what size would have been fitted at the time?. I very much want to have one installed and find one here thats suitable in Australia, however am unsure of what type/size etc due to the limited space below deck.

Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks for you time in advance,

Scott.

I just bought a new 2013 232 Fisherman. I'm wondering how to run the VHF Antenna cable from the T-top? Is there a chase through one of the posts or do others just wire tie the cable on the outside??? any help would be appreciated.

Brian
