View the latest post Brokeass Boater onboard

New here, but I'm on a few other forums out here on the west coast, mostly fishing oriented. We live in N. California, at the doorsteps of the San Joaquin delta, about 1100 miles of water ways winding around something like 60 islands/berms, an hour from San Francisco bay. My wife and I chase the bite from Central Ca. to Oregon, bottom fish, Stripers on a flyrod, Albacore, Bluefin, and lake trout up in the Sierras. This is why I have the different boats. I have brought back to life several boats over the years, it must be a miswiring in me, I like the challenges. The Skipjack in my avater is one of them. I bought it for 600 bucks, hauled it out of the weeds in a field and rebuilt it. The pilothouse I welded up out of aluminum, they never made a PH for this hull, and replaced the decks and motor/drive, painted the entire boat with Awlgrip. I'm pretty good with fiberglass/gelcoat also, included making parts from molds, I really enjoy glass work, ya, I'm wired wrong lol. I'm picking up a 2001 180 Sportsman pending a good sea trial in of couple days. It needs some love, but seems to be solid boat. There are not many of these dual consoles on the west coast, I have some questions that I'll post under the discussion topics. hoping to get some answers/resources here. Thanks for reading, way longer than I planned,,,gregg

View the latest post 1998 Martinique 3200 wire/cable routing cabinet to helm

Hi All,

I want to extend a NMEA2000 network and a USB input from the electronics cabinet by the steps to the helm area for my Fusion head unit that is in the electronics cabinet. Is there an easier way that going into the engine compartment, to the other side of the boat, and then up into the helm area?

View the latest post 1997 Martinique 3600 Drinking Water Pressure Issue

When I flushed the antifreeze from my drinking water system I noticed that the pressure was low. Now I turn on the pump and it runs but there is no water pressure at any of the faucets. Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to replace the water pump?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Community! I am the proud owner of a 1997 Wellcraft Martinique 3600. Her name is "Nobody Boat You." The inspiration is from the song that came out when I fell in love with my beautiful wife Caren. It is docked on Kentucky Lake and we love spending our weekends there all season long. As with any vessel born in 1997 it requires a lot of maintenance which I enjoy doing myself. Seems I fix something every weekend. Thanks for allowing me to be in this forum and I look forward to all of the tips I will receive about maintaining my boat.

Thanks,
Dave

View the latest post Attachment(s) ‘21 262 Fisherman Rear Folding Seat

Took a small wake from the side while daughter in law and 2 year old granddaughter were seated on rear folding bench. Not a lot of weight. The seat appears to have swayed side to side and the hinges bent and partially collapsed. The seat assembly is fine. It’s just the one strut or hinge bar that bent. There’s no practical way to straighten the one bent piece on each side.
Where can I get replacements. Anyone know?

View the latest post garmin fish finder replacement

I own a 1989 Wellcraft St Tropez equipped with a Garmin 160c fish finder, which I'd like to replace with a newer model. However, I'm uncertain whether the boat already has a transducer installed. As a novice boater, I'm unfamiliar with the 160c's functionality, and I'm wondering if a new transducer will be necessary. If so, do you have any recommendations for installing it? I've viewed several tutorials, but most involve drilling into the boat's backside to secure the transducer. Is this approach advisable? Additionally, could you please offer guidance on how to connect the power cables to the battery? Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance.

View the latest post marine battery

Hello everyone, I'm a new boater and recently acquired an 89 Wellcraft St Tropez. It has three batteries on board - one cranking battery rated at 1000/800/135 and two Walleye-1 batteries rated at 1000/800/120. Unfortunately, one of the Walleye-1 batteries has died and I haven't been able to find a replacement of the same type. My question is, can I substitute it with a Walleye starting battery rated at 1000/800/120? Thanks in advance for any help

View the latest post Transom Thickness

I have a 1990 18 Fisherman that I have removed a completely rotten transom from the back. I though it would be 2 pieces of 3/4 plywood but I see no way of putting 2 pieces in. It looks to me to be a 3/4 piece and a 1/2 inch piece. I have removed all wood down to the fiberglass. It has a Evinrude 150 on it. I have never replaced a transom before but I am sure I can do it after reviewing many you tube videos. Does anyone know how thick it should be.

Thank you
