engine upgrade

hello i have a 1989 wellcraft 190 classic with a 4.3 l v6 i would like to replace the motor with something a little bigger but not sure what would be a good fit" size and horsepower" this is my first boat and any help would be appreciated

I'm new to the Wellcraft forum and saw your question. I have a similar issue, but no help for you. I have a 1987 192 Classic with a 3.7 liter 4 cylinder
170 hp engine and would love to move up to the 4.3l V6. Why do you want to change? Wondering if the 4.3 has issues.

not to familiar with this engine but mine runs fine the old owner is a family member and he never had any issues with the 4.3 with that being said i am fully restoring this boat top to bottom and who doesn't want more horsepower
