2001 Coastal 290 Trailer Specs

Postby ALCoastal290 » Sat Jun 01, 2019 12:43 pm

Hey guys, I am new to the forum. I am reaching out because I need to trailer my Coastal 290 to my shop about 6 miles. It is very difficult to find a good used boat trailer. I came across a tandem axle trailer that has a gross weight of 11,000lbs that fit a 31' center console. Has anyone used a tandem vs a triple axle trailer on their Coastal? Had any problems? The tandem would save me some $$ that I can put into new outboards! I appreciate your help!

You should be fine, I have a tandem trailer for my 2600 which weighs in at 9200lbs (boat is heavy for its size) my trailer is rated at 11,000lbs (5500lbs per axle) and it toss & stops fine. My total weight (boat & trailer) is right at 10,300lbs so I’ve got several hundred pounds to spare. I think you’ll be fine for the 6 miles
