Kicker motor mount / placement

Postby engine64 » Fri Apr 17, 2020 8:15 am

I purchased 2004 coastal in February and am now getting to do some of the things I want to do to her, one being adding a kicker motor. I purchased a new Yamaha 9.9T high Thrust. Question is being transom top edge is to wide to for bracket of kicker to hang on transom I have to mount with a plate. Marine guy recommended Panther fixed outboard motor bracket part # 550027 with - 8 1/2" set back. Im curious as to what people feel is good solid bracket, if 8 1/2" will allow me to fully tilt motor up, or if I need bracket to get me away from transom (clearance). Any input would be appreciated. My new kicker has power tilt / trim with controls mounted up to helm.
