Water in the bilge between the driver and passenger seats

Postby zeus7625 » Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:00 pm

1997 Eclipse 2000
The bilge in the center of the boat between the driver and passenger seats does not drain. There is a large plastic plug in the rear of the bilge that I pulled out and removed some debris. I can feel a drain pipe in the hole but snaking it out has not helped. I also tried to snake it from the engine bilges forward. I reach a hard spot both ways. Help please. See pics.

Do you know if it has a check valve in the drain hose somewhere? Maybe its jammed/broke.... maybe try using a air compressor to blow it out? Just my 2 cents lol hope you figure it out and its a easy fix! Let us know what you end up finding out. Thanks and good luck!

If there is a check valve in the system it would have opened in one direction or the other since I tried from what I think is both ends. I have no clue how to access this piping.

I am willing to bet that hard spot is something stuck in the tube keeping the water from passing. Call me captain obvious. I would see if I could get a piece of stiff wire into it to try and open it up. Good Luck - hope you can fix it!!! Maybe shop vac the current water out for now?

That stinks man, sorry to hear that. Did it go all the way through or did it hit an impediment?

Yup that is strange, seems like anything that fell in that that hole should be small enough to pass through.
