Need Help with 1994 EXCEL 16DX !

Postby Smilewithme2 » Sun Apr 25, 2021 3:43 pm

I have owned my boat for 26 yrs bought her brand new! She has always run like new and garaged. However, my poor girl is showing signs of dry rot need to explore further by digging into her some. Where can I find something like a blueprint or detailed repair manual for my boat? They only made a few of my year's make and model. She of course is the first and only boat I have owned! Trying to educate me as much as I can to get her looked at and fixed. Hoping it's not reached the entire transom area. Thank you :)

First you need to figure out the extent of the rot, is it just the transom if so how much of it, did it get to the stringers and again how much. there's lots of how to video's on line about how to make those repairs. About a blueprint or diagram, I very much doubt that one still exists but basic boat construction is close to the same on most boats . Rot repair is a long, time consuming, dirty job and not for the faint of heart but if you've got some basic mechanical and construction skills you can probable handel it
