Fuel sender for 2001 WC 230 Fisherman

Postby BigZZZ » Sun Jun 30, 2024 8:30 pm

Does anyone happen to know the depth of the fuel tank or fuel tank specs for a replacement sender. (Reed type). I suspect the sender is faulty.

I do not, however were you able to get the old one out? I'm struggling a bit here, afraid to damage the tank.

I have an attempted removal of the sender yet. It looks fairly straightforward and there isn’t any visible corrosion. Still, he never know what you might encounter when you attempt removal. I have a freshwater boat. The sender number is 8849–17 M 99. I assume 17 refers to the tank depth in inches minus an inch or so for fit and the M refers to the manufacturer—Moeller. I plan is to replace the sender with a reed type sender rather than the swing arm. My tank holds 150 US gallons. It appears I’ll have to remove the sender measure the tank depth and then order the reed sender. Thanks for responding.
