1985 Wellcraft aft cabin general questions

Postby Bluebyyou » Sun Aug 30, 2015 10:26 am

Hello, we just bought "our first" boat. It is a 1985 Wellcraft aft cabin and we can't find the gas tank or where to find the floating device telling us if we have a full tank or less etc. We are also looking for the poop tank. It will not suck it out like it should. Not sure where it is going to? Can someone help us?? THank you so much.

Both of the boats that I've owned have had an access in the floor to get to the fuel sending unit. On my 1986 Galaxy, you had to remove a fiberglass panel (4 screws) that was probably 3' x 4'. The top of the tank was exposed, and the sending unit was accessible from there.

On my current Wellcraft, the floor is all non-skid, and there is access in the center of the floor via a hatch that unscrews to reveal the sending unit and fuel line connections.

Hopefully someone will come forward who has an older Wellcraft. This forum is pretty much dead. I posted a week ago, and I've only seen 2 posts since then (not related to, or acknowledging mine)

Good luck!

your gas tank is prob. in bottom of boat in front of engine, sending unit might be accessed there? do you have a holding tank or is yours porty pot style that has a withdraw hose, you might need to vent potty to clear out?, if you have tank it would be vented, also push dn. hard to extract waste
