I recently bought an 1989 Eclipse 233, I was looking into the specs and it said there was 4 gallons of fresh water storage. I can only assume this is for a sink as there is only a port a potty in the head. My boat has no sink as someone replaced the counter top with some homemade wood and must have deleted it? Does anyone have a picture of what it is suppose to look like? Next question, where could I get the factory sink to reinstall?

Happy to be aboard! Just bought a 1989 Eclipse 233. The boat is in near perfect condition, garage kept and is in high and dry currently. 50 hours on the rebuilt 5.7 liter. Looking forward to taking her out with he family this coming year.

I want to remove the onboard potty and cap it off. Does anyone know what would be the best way to do it and still keep my fresh water wash out?

Hi:
I keep beating this topic, sorry...
I am looking for the Data Plate information on the Boats capacity and stuff. Mine was removed by the previous owner. I have repowered mine with a 275 Verado, and would like to make a data plate for it. I have the ability to Laser Etch Stainless Steel at work. So what I am looking for is a picture of your data plate if you have this model.
Please feel free to share any other pictures of your 218CCF also, as we all know, all boats are works in progress...

My forward hatches are leaking. Does anyone know what the opening size is? I would like to order new ones before removing the old ones. I can't find specs anywhere.
Thank you!

Hey everyone. I have a choice to make. I am looking at two boats and I need help in deciding which one to get.
#1 is a 1988 28 foot Monte Carlo with 2 5.0 engines. One was replaced and one was rebuilt both have about 10 hours on them. The boat has 1300 hours on it in total. The cabin is in decent shape and everything works. I am going to have this one surveyed over the weekend. Seller wants $13,500 including the trailer. She is set up as a family cruiser and has a lot of good features for 1988! Ilike the big swim platform No generator though...
#2 is a 1997 24 foot walk around Excel. She has a single 200 HP Mercury outboard. I have not seen this one yet, but the seller wants $14,500 including the trailer. She is set up more for fishing and has more electronics than the Monte
Here is my situation. I live in the Outer Banks and will want to take this boat out into the sounds and hit some of the islands in the area like Ocracoke or Portsmouth. I also want to take the thing on some overnight trips or atleast long day trips so having a boat that is great at seakeeping is important to me. I am assuming the Monte is a better seakeeper due to the size and weight but I could be wrong.
Both boats have a head though the 24' is a porta potty and the 28' is a flush toilet. The wife and the other girls need this
Either one will be used mostly as a family hauler with limited fishing as none of us really fish (yet) Family is me and the wife, three adult children and a grandson who is 4. The family only gets down here on a limited basis so having something fun to go out on is a must.Does anybody own one of these boats? Can you tell me how it handles in the chop and what you like/dislike about your baby. Would you buy it again?
As I said, I looked at the Monte last week and it looked good to my landlubber eyes which is why the survey is being done. I can ask the same guy to survey the 24' if that is a good option.

View the latest post Coastal 290 Anchor Help
- Posted by: cjacobsen » Fri Nov 12, 2021 1:29 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi there. New member. New Wellcraft owner.
I've been reconditioning a 2003 Coastal and it had a Danforth 1300 with a bent shank. I live in Southern California and anchor typically in sand with some kelp and rocks at some outer islands. 25' of water exposed to open swell. I've had a 30' Pursuit for a few years with a plow and it had held well through swells and wind changes while I am off the boat for hours at a time surfing. I'd love to stick with the plow but had read about some difficulties due to the pulpit on the coastal.
I've read on a forum that the pulpit was designed around the danforth - so stick with it. And I've also heard the pulpuit was designed for a plow? In searching pretty much every photo I can online I see mostly Danforths, but also a few plows on bows of 290s. Yesterday, I picked up a Rocna 10 and gave it a try but it seemed the shank was too short and also too wide to really fit and therefore it was hanging too low.
Has anyone here gone through this journey? If I need to go to the danforth I shall, but I also did a stroll through my marina and looked at everyone's anchor here and the plow was #1 followed by a bruce type followed by a danforth. So, would love to find a plow that fits snugly.
Two anchors that seem to potentially have a longer and thinner shank - at least from my observation of online pictures - are the Mantis 1 and the Hurricane- however they have that circular shaft for if they land upside down and I don't know if they would interfere with the pulpit. And I've never seen either of these in person. I have a nearby West Marine so have only seen their selection of Rocna's and Lewmars, etc that weren't on the bow of a vessel.
Thanks for any help.

every time i open the engine compartment i have a hell of a time getting it to close completely. It goes almost all the way and then binds up. I have found that if i close it almost all the way and then manually pull it to the port side it will close, most times. Is there an adjustment that i can do to realign the cover so it will close all the way without manual coaxing?
