View the latest post New member, new to boating

Hello all. Just made a swap with a local dealer from a 1990 Carver 4207 to a 1988 Portofino 43 with gas engines (P43). It's a long story...In any event, here I am needing owner manuals. Just like Carver, I know that Wellcraft won't have OEM equipment information (engines, generators, etc.). The dealer I'm working with has been told by previous owner that he would provide the boat's documentation; we'll see. In the meantime, if anyone has a copy of a general 1988 P43 owners manual they could point me to or send me (via PM), it would be much appreciated. I'll consider this my first boat because I didn't get to take out the Carver due to problems. Live and learn; hopefully this P43 will be a better experience.

View the latest post 1988 Wellcraft Portofino 43

Dear all,
I am considering a new to me Wellcraft Portofino 43 from 1988. Boat has 2x CAT 3208 with 375HP each. My question is: What kind of problems should I be aware of regarding this engines? Are they reliable? How difficult it is to get spares? And regarding the hull? Are there any major concerns that I should be aware of?
Thanks very much for all the help!
Regards,
Tiago

View the latest post Inline fuel filter (is it needed)

Interested to see how many of you out there have an inline fuel filter before the Fuel/Filter water separator that is attached to the fuel pump.

*note I have a 270 coastal with a Volvo Penta Stern drive.

My concern is, why add another point of potential fuel starvation.

Anyone know how to find a replacement for the trim moldings on a 1997 Excel WA? Mine are cracked on the transom, around the cabin door, etc.

View the latest post Coastal 290 - Location of AC air filter

Hi all,

2012 290 Coastal here. Looking to service the AC air filter but have not been able to locate it. There is a hatch in the mid berth area that allows access to the water heater and the AC unit. However looking in there there is nothing that looks like an air filter in any obvious way.

Any guidance on whether that is in fact the right location for the filter and I may just be missing it... or is it located elsewhere?

Thank you!!

View the latest post Live well

2020 222 Fisherman, a few weeks ago the pump started making a noise for a few seconds but still worked. Now the when I turn the switch on it pops the fuse on the dash. I have not dug deep into it yet but what part needs to be replaced? The manual shows there only being one pump for both the live well and the wash down, but the wash down still works?
