View the latest post Hello from the Boston area - 1988 Wellcraft St. Tropez w/454 7.4l Mercruisers

Hi all, this forum has been great over the years, thanks for having me!

Gearing up to sell our mostly fresh water 1988 St. Tropez we've had in the Boston area since 2009 as the offer on our next boat has been accepted. Will be sad to see her go!

View the latest post Water leak(?)

Hello all.
Not sure if this is a stupid question or not.
Just did my first water pump on my Alpha 1 Gen 2. After reassemble, I slapped on the muffs and turned on the hose WITHOUT the engine running and noticed water coming out between upper and lower housings.
I’m thinking that’s normal but not sure. First time I’ve worked on an Alpha outdrive.
Any comments are appreciated.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Garmin fuel flow sensors update, Installed

Has anyone installed Garmin fuel flow sensors? Amazon had the gfs10 on sale for $129. I ordered 2 for my boat. They look pretty easy to install. I already have a Garmin 9'' plotter.

View the latest post 40-50 gallons of mystery water

Hey all,
My old man (father) got his hands on a 2001 Wellcraft Martinique 2600 that we’ve been restoring for the past year or so. We’ve gotten it to a point that we aren’t fearful of sinking and have taken it out for extended amounts of time and things seem good.
We’ve got one big mystery though. Just as we are about to pull it out of the water we run the bilge for around a minute or so and then put it on the trailer and pull the drain plug once on shore. Once the plug is pulled we get what he estimates to be about 40-50 gallons of water. This doesn’t make sense to us as the bilge runs dry but also that we can’t see water anywhere else in the boat’s engine compartment. My theory is that the bilge sits in the engine compartment and the water we see pumped out through the Thru-hull is just that, engine compartment water. I also think the drain plug connects to a “subcompartment” that is below the engine compartment which we cannot see or access other than through the drain plug. Any truth to this? Does anyone know if there are “hull drawings” online somewhere that I could see a cad drawing of the hull?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Front Window Latches

Does anyone know where to get replacement latches for a 1995 Coastal 3300. I have searched several suppliers with no luck. They are round and taper as you turn them to cinch down the window.

View the latest post Location of Hour Meter

Who can help ... I have a 1996 26' Scarab with a 502 Merc engine. I can not find an hour meter ANYWHERE. Not on the dash or anywhere I've looked in the engine compartment. Can someone tell me where it's been hidden. Thanks Jim.

View the latest post Retun to Boating

Hello Everyone, I've been away from boating for a decade or so but I recently picked up a 2000 Wellcraft 180 Sportsman with a 2016 Suzuki 115 Four Stroke, nice little boat, exactly what I was looking for, small enough to trailer but big enough to handle the inland waters around Long Island, NY.. The boat sat for a couple of years but it was winterized and covered very well prior to storage. So far the only issue I have is with some electronics; I replaced the fuse panel because there was some corrosion on the terminals. everything is working except for the livewell, when I flip the switch I get nothing, no hum, no click. I have not had a boat with one so I don't even know if there is an internal pump, I don't see one - any ideas?
Also at 15mph the gauges read 3500 RPMs and under 5 lbs of oil pressure, should I be concerned? Thanks in advance, Rich.
